About the black travertine — genuine natural stone with a matte black surface finish
The block body of this wall lamp is made from genuine travertine stone. To create a deep, even black aesthetic, the stone surface is finished with a matte black coating — rather than left in its natural off-white state. This is an intentional design choice: the weight, density, and natural pore structure of genuine travertine are preserved, while the surface colour is controlled. The porous surface visible in each piece is authentic — this is exactly as it was designed to be.
Natural travertine — formed by geological processes
Travertine is formed in the natural environment through thousands of years of complex physical and chemical processes. Even beneath the black surface, the pore distribution and stone characteristics of each piece remain entirely unique.

Frequently Asked QuestionsIs the travertine naturally black?
No — travertine is naturally off-white. The matte black finish is a surface coating applied to the genuine stone. The natural pore structure, weight, and density are fully preserved beneath.
Where does the light come from?
The bulb is concealed within the stone block and emits light from a hidden aperture at the bottom, casting a soft, focused glow downward onto the wall. The source itself is not visible from normal viewing angles.
Which height should I choose?
Both share the same 2.6″×2.6″ square footprint. The H6.3″ is more compact and subtle; the H9.1″ has a more imposing monolithic presence and a slightly larger light pool. Both sizes work well in pairs flanking artwork, a mirror, or a doorway.
Is this certified for North America?
